A few weeks back I published a blog post about updating a MAMP installation. It actually proved to be very popular to I thought I would follow it up with a quick run through of getting virtual hosts up and running on MAMP without the need to purchase MAMP Pro. I don't have anything against MAMP Pro, this is just a free way of doing it for users who are prepared to get their hands a little more dirty than others.

Recently while backing up and syncing my MacBook Pro with my little hackintosh Acer Aspire One (or my Macbook Nano!) I decided to do some spring cleaning and upgrading to get them both in sync. The most important thing for me, as a web developer to get in sync, is my MAMP installation. For those of you not familiar with MAMP I will just say this... if you are a web developer and your chosen platform is OSX then you need MAMP in your life, its as simple as that!
