Ulterior Motive site goes live
A friend of mine recently asked me to build a website to promote his music, I say asked me but it's probably fairer to say that I offered my services as soon as he mentioned he was looking at MySpace.com. I hate MySpace and while the idea of it is cool, it's code and look are horrendous! Step up Drupal 6...
I figured that if I was soon to be using Drupal 6 in work, I may as well get a head start on it and build one myself before hand. From what I have seen so far it seems to be a big improvment on Drupal 5 (not that that was bad!) and Views 2 is amazing.
I will provide a link to the site as soon as it is live, but the whole exercise is as much a marketing one as a web development one. We are using Flickr, YouTube, iTunes (more to come on this), FaceBook and MySpace to spread the word as much as possible and get his music heard in as many places as possible.
As far as the iTunes integration goes, initally we were going to simply put out a podcast of 20 second sample tunes but then i stumbled upon tunecore.com, a service which distributes your music to Amazon MP3, iTunes, Napster and more, all for a nominal fee. So stay tuned and you might well find Ulterior Motive tunes for download in the near future...
