As a web developer who works with Drupal (5 & 6) on a daily basis at work, naturally I am getting excited and intrigued by what Drupal 7 will bring to the table. A colleague of mine at Sift, Dan Slinky has just published www.openslinky.com and wanted a theme for it. I took the challenge and thought I would post my first impressions on working with Drupal 7 for the first time...

Today I purchased a copy of 3D Artist Magazine. I haven't bought a 3D magazine for some time, well, since my days of 3D animation at uni to be honest so I thought I would pick this up as it had some useful free software - including a free, full version of Carrara 6.2 Pro.

This posts is aimed at helping other people interested in using the FIVe3D Flash 3D Engine in Flex. I spent a good few hours trying to figure out why all the tutorials I was following were not working, so hopefully this post will help anyone in the same boat. I only managed to figure this out by diving into the Flex 3 Language Reference and swearing a lot!

While giving my site a facelift (which isn't quite finished yet I know) I thought I would have a little play with CSS3 to see what could be done and I have to say I am impressed and frustrated in equal measure at the moment.

Those of you viewing this site in a proper browser (you know who you are), will notice the flickr gallery to the right has some nice effects applied to it, ok its not much but I thought I would start small and I have to say that the resulting effect is pretty cool considering all I did was add 4 lines of code:

-moz-box-shadow:6px 1px 10px #888888;

No its not a new, clever design technique or web fad, just the subject of my latest piece of graphic design. I got to flex my creative muscles over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it!

My little A150 was a great buy when I picked it up a few months back, £150 from Currys Digital as it was an ex display model - which would probably explain the fact that the fan needed to be replaced! Every time I turned it on the noise was ridiculous, I had to turn it on and off in the hope that next time I started it up it would be quiet.
